This was one of the rare films in which the majestic Ti Lung did not appear with David Chiang, his charismatic partner in many a Chang Cheh-directed kung-fu classic. At Chiang's side instead is the "queen of Shaw Brothers kung-fu," Lily Li, is an entertaining "Martial Arts World" epic about a hero who robs from the robbers and gives to the poor. Naturally that doesn't make the robbers happy, and they use every sword in the area to try killing their adversary.

遊俠兒（姜大衛）武功高強，遊戲人間，鋤強扶弱，劫富濟貧，往往連自已的銀子都散給災民。一日，遊俠兒無意中救了威勝鏢局總鏢頭的妹妹江靈（李麗麗），得知其兄江威正保運一批價值連城的珍寶，而行蹤已被黑道高手孔武（張佩山）發覺。途中，遊遇上孔，二人交手，武功相敵。孔向遊偽稱是自己人，和過天雲等是大河六俠，專門劫富濟貧，欺騙遊和他們一起劫鏢。劫鏢後，遊才知上了賊人的當，一定要把珍寶找回，與眾人激鬥，身受重傷……
